Prizes

The Top 5 eligible submissions selected to win will be featured in the upcoming Domo: Volume 1 video release by Phase 4 Films, Inc.

Domo: Volume 1 will feature the best of Domo, bonus original Japanese episodes and commercials, and the Domo Animation Challenge winning videos. Winning videos will be highlighted on the DVD by appearing in a dedicated section and provide full credit to the creators.

Additionally, Domonation and Phase4 Films will supply all eligible winners with a free copy of the DVD plus other prizes will be sent to all the finalists!

Judging Criteria

Winning animations will be at the sole discretion of DomoNation and Phase 4 Films and selected from the Top 50 Animations submitted based upon total views.

Contest period

Entries have to be submitted between 12:01 a.m. EST on May 18, 2009 and 11:59 p.m. EST June 14, 2009. Entries submitted after 11:59 p.m. on June 14, 2009, are ineligible to win.

How to participate

Here is a quick checklist to make sure your entry is eligible to win in the contest:

Create an animation lasting between 30 seconds and 2 minutes 30 seconds
Include music and/or sound effects in your animation
Tag your animation with the word "DomoGo"
Make your animation publicly available on Domo Animate
Make sure your entry is suitable for all audiences

NO PURCHASE IS NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. The DomoNation Animation Challenge (“Contest”) is open to anyone except void where prohibited or restricted by law. DOMONATION AND PHASE 4 FILMS INC. employees and contractors, and their respective immediate family members are ineligible.
The Contest begins at 12:01 a.m. EST on May 18, 2009, and ends at 11:59 p.m. EST June 14, 2009. Entries submitted after 11:59 p.m. on June 14, 2009, are ineligible to win. You can only enter this Contest by:
- Creating an animation using the Domo Animator
- Length of entry should be at least 30 seconds and no more than 2 minutes 30 seconds with an optimal time of 2 minutes to be included on the DVD release
- Animations MUST BE tagged with “DomoGo” to be considered
- Animations that do not use music or sound effects will not be considered, regardless of number of views.
- All animations of the proper length and tagged with “DomoGo” will be eligible
- All eligible entries must be made “Public” for viewing
- All eligible entries must be suitable for all audiences
- Winning animations will be at the sole discretion of DomoNation and Phase 4 Films and selected from the Top 50 Animations submitted based upon total views.
By tagging your entry with “DomoGo” and making your entry public you hereby grant Domonation and Phase 4 Films and its respective successors and affiliates a perpetual and irrevocable, exclusive, royalty free, worldwide license in all right, title and interest of every kind and nature now or hereafter known in your entry, including but not limited to (1) all copyrights and trademarks therein, (2) the right of reproduction of your entry in any and all media whether now known and/or hereafter devised, in whole or in part, (3) the moral rights of artists in the Entry in whole or in part, and (4) all rights of manufacture, merchandising, recordation, reproduction, translation, adaptation, display, and exhibition of your entry in whole or in part and the right to make modifications thereto and derivatives thereof, in any and all media whether now known and/or hereafter devised and by any and all means or methods. Pursuant to this license, Domonation, Phase 4 Films Inc., and their respective licensees, successors, and assigns shall be entitled to and shall exclusively have the right to exploit throughout the world all rights in your entry together with the rights generally known as the "moral rights of authors" in and/or to any proceeds with respect to your entry, including but not limited to the right to add to, subtract from, arrange, revise, adapt, rearrange, and make variations of your entry, and to use all or any part of your entry in new versions, adaptations, derivative works, prequels, and sequels in any and all languages, and to obtain copyright therein in the name of Domonation or its affiliates. Without in any way limiting the foregoing, you acknowledge and agree that Domonation, Phase 4 Films Inc, its licensees, and their respective successors and assigns shall have the right to freely distribute, sell, license, assign, and otherwise transfer any and all of the rights granted by you to DOMONATION AND PHASE 4 FILMS INC. hereunder, and to exercise all such rights in connection with any advertising, publicity, promotional materials, and distribution rights in connection with your entry.
DOMONATION AND PHASE 4 FILMS INC. is not responsible for human error, computer hardware or software malfunction, Internet connection or transmission problems or failures, or Internet traffic congestion, which may affect an entry or attempted entry. DOMONATION AND PHASE 4 FILMS INC. reserve the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or terminate the Contest. Furthermore, DOMONATION AND PHASE 4 FILMS INC. reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to disqualify any entrant deemed to have (a) tampered or attempted to tamper with the entry process or the operation of the Contest or Domonation’s website; (b) violated these Official Rules; (c) violated the Terms of Service, conditions of use and/or general rules, or (d) cheated, destroyed, obstructed, or otherwise acted illegally or in bad faith in relation to this Contest.
If the Contest is terminated prior to 11:59 p.m. (EST), June 14, 2009, eligible online entries received prior to termination will remain qualified for the grand prize. All Entries must be completed and submitted personally by the entrant.
Five (5) winners of a prize package will be selected based upon the Top 50 viewed entries at the sole discretion of Domonation and Phase 4 Inc., eligible entries received by 11:59 p.m. (EST), June 14, 2009. Prizes are non-transferable. No prize can be exchanged or returned for cash. DOMONATION AND PHASE 4 FILMS INC. reserves the right in its sole discretion to substitute a $75 cash prize in lieu of awarding the prize to any winner, but substitution of any prize or any part thereof by a winner is prohibited. If a winner cannot be notified by email or does not accept the prize within three (3) days after the prize is awarded, the prize will be forfeited and an alternate winner will be chosen from remaining eligible entries.
By entering this Contest, you consent to Domonation and Phase 4 Film’s use of your name for promotional purposes, including online announcements, without additional compensation. If you are the winner, DOMONATION AND PHASE 4 FILMS INC. may require you to furnish proof of identity, address, and birth date as a condition to awarding the Prize to you. DOMONATION AND PHASE 4 FILMS INC. may also require you to sign (i) an agreement releasing DOMONATION AND PHASE 4 FILMS INC. from all liability in connection with personal injury or death, damage, theft, or loss in connection with the Contest and the acceptance, receipt, possession, or use of the Prize and (ii) a publicity release, unless prohibited by law, permitting DOMONATION AND PHASE 4 FILMS INC. to advertise your name and state of residence. Failure to present such proof or sign such additional releases within three (3) days after notification by email will result in disqualification and forfeiture of the prize, which may be awarded to the runner up.
DOMONATION AND PHASE 4 FILMS INC. will announce the winners at http://www.domonation.com on or before June 30, 2009 and subject to paragraph 6 of these Official Rules, will ship the Prize on or before December 31, 2009, to the winner’s address in the United States.
By participating in the Contest, you agree to be bound by these rules and the decisions of DOMONATION AND PHASE 4 FILMS INC., which are final in all matters relating to this Contest.
